Microsoft announces names of the Windows 8 editions

Microsoft has released the list of editions that Windows 8 will be sold in. As of now, there will be four editions, Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise and Windows RT.

The first three will be available for PCs and tablet users running x86/64 processors and will be on sale whereas Windows RT will be exclusively for PCs and tablets running on the ARM platform and will not be sold but would rather ship built into the devices. According to Microsoft, all editions of Windows 8 offer a no-compromise experience, which has sort of become their slogan with Windows 8

BlackBerry has launched a new Dev Alpha C program along with a new developer-only device at its Jam European event held in Amsterdam. Microsoft showcases upcoming Office 15 for Windows 8 on ARM

While demonstrating Windows on ARM (WOA), Microsoft also showcased the next version of its office suite, Office 15. This new version of Office will be fully compatible with WOA and come with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. As you can see from the video below, Office 15 has a new flattened look, which is tune with the look of Windows 8. Office 15 will run in desktop mode on Windows 8, which is why the UI resembles apps like the new Explorer instead of the Metro apps
