SnapilyPro is an Online 3D Digital Lenticular Printing Service

SnapilyPro is an online lenticular 3D digital printing service for professionals that allows you to print all sorts of products showing 3D depth or movement/animation on a print – this includes things like invitations, name cards, big posters, lanyards, business cards, event promotions, displays, entry tickets and much more. I’ve already mentioned Snapily’s 3D application and photo printing service here on the blog, but SnapilyPro is a more advanced service offering much more options. Lenticular printing is a process where a lenticular lens is used to produce images with an illusion of depth, change of image or movement. When viewed from different angles, different areas under the lens are shown to the viewer, and since these views are specially arranged under the lens – each eye gets to see a different view and the brain then processes these views to a single coherent 3D, Flip or animated images. This is pretty much the easiest way to make 3D prints that don’t require the ...

The New Acer HN274H 3D Monitor Might Get You a Bit Confused

The updated version of the 27-inch Acer HN274H 3D monitor with the new 3D Vision 2 and support for 3D Lightboost technology is here as apparently Acer is already releasing the monitor on some markets and I just got a review sample. The new monitor looks exactly the same as the old version on the outside, even the model name on the front is printed as HN274H

3D Vision No Longer Supports Generic CRT Monitors in Stereo 3D

If you have installed the latest WHQL GeForce video drivers version 295.73 you might have noticed that they no longer have support for Generic CRT mode that allows you to use an old CRT monitor in stereoscopic 3D mode. We actually got a hint that this is going to happen from the few beta video drivers made available prior to the release of 295.73, so if you still haven’t upgraded your old CRT monitor to a new 120Hz LCD display than maybe you should start thinking about it. Of course you can still use the old 285.62 driver that has support for CRT displays for a while, instead of upgrading to the latest drivers, however in a few months time you will start loosing some extra performance optimizations and new features as they get introduced to newer drivers. Up until the 285.62 driver Nvidia has been providing support for CRTs for legacy users, but they probably consider that it is about time to move on focusing more on 3D Vision certified products than on legacy CRT support. So the quest...

Acer releases two new 3D-ready projectors, we’re waiting for Avatar on Blu-ray

One of the first things I wrote for this blog was a looong post about the current gen tech for watching 3D movies in the comfort of your home. I’ll quickly revisit the topic with two new 3D-ready projectors from Acer. The two projectors – the Acer H5360 and the Acer X1261 – rely on NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology that uses LCD shutter glasses to view 3D content. If you don’t know what those are, check out the

Nintendo’s 3DS European Stereo 3D Photo Contest is Now Open

>Nintendo has started their 3DS photo competition in Europe and if you live in UK, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Belgium or Netherlands you can share your 3D photos taken with the Nintendo 3DS. You have six categories to choose from (Animals, People, Places, Objects, Nature and Augmented Reality) to take 3D photos in and the competition runs from April 2nd to June 17th. The most promising 3DS photographer will win the top prize – a trip for two to Paris and a photography masterclass, and the runners-up will be awarded Nintendo goodies. The competition’s website already has a lot of entries available for viewing, so you can take a look at what others are shooting and maybe get some ideas or inspiration to make something even better. The website however only shows the photos in 2D, you would need a Nintendo 3DS console to be able to see them in stereo 3D…

MTBS3D is reporting a very interesting news regarding the iZ3D driver, it seems that the company developing it  of the project to the stereo 3D community, making the iZ3D driver open source. There is no official announcement about that available yet on iZ3D’s website, but it is supposed to follow very soon, so stay tuned for more information.
